Kathryn (Kate) has been exploring world religions and spirituality since the early 1990s. She lived among Buddhists and Shinto practitioners in rural Japan and in 2000 completed a 10,000 mile bicycle journey through Asia, the Middle East, and Europe which profoundly shaped her worldview and commitment to social justice. She directed The Center for Spirituality and Social Change at Notre Dame de Namur University where her focus was on service-learning, spiritual formation and mission integration. She also launched a socially and environmentally responsible business in Portland, Oregon and is particularly interested in the intersection of spirituality and organizational development.
Kate has an undergraduate degree in Neuroscience from Bowdoin College, a Master’s of Divinity Degree from the Pacific School of Religion, and was formed as a spiritual director at Mercy Center. She currently resides in Sacramento and loves experiencing the Sacred through exploring nature.
